McGreer wins SPVA cross country; Gloy fourth

Sophomore Mason McGreer did not disappoint during the SPVA Cross Country competition last week, taking top honors on his home course. 

 McGreer was able to pull away in the last half mile, winning the meet by 10 seconds, behind his rival Jarrett Miles from North Platte St. Pats. 

McGreer finished the race with a time of 16:52.78, just behind Miles’ 17:02.95

The two other PCS boys CC competitors, Brient Wood and Gavin Kohmetscher, fared well during the event. According to Head Coach Seth Burge, Wood had a great finish with a time of 22:11.78 and Kohmetscher was able to set another personal record with a time of 23:49.96. Brock Tines did not compete due to illness. 

Girls

On the girls side, Meredith Gloy, 22:44.48, and Maggie Fisher, 26:53.48, both set course PRs with Gloy finishing fourth. Freshman Brenna Colglazier finished just out of the medals with a time of 25:01.02

Next Action

The PCS teams head to Bridgeport for the class D-6 district meet on Thursday, Oct. 13.
