PC Volleyball team has 30 player roster
Coach Monica Cole starts her seventh year as head coach of the Lady Plainsmen Volleyball team this year with a roster 30 deep.
Joined by assistant coaches Brooke Lee and Bri Griffin this year, Cole and the C-2 Lady Plainsmen follow a 19-12 record last season.
Overall, Cole has a 73-102 coach record.
Five seniors, five juniors, 13 sophomores and seven freshman make up the 2024-25 team and Coach Cole said "We had a couple of seniors that were key components for us last year, but with the experience that we have returning on the court this year, we are excited to get the season started with confidence and striving to be as competitive as possible.”
Senior Libby Cole is one to watch this season, with 44 Ace serves, 311 kills, 302 Set assists, 56 blocks and 142 digs, “she leads our team with stats and energy,” Coach Cole said.
Sophomores Ella Homan and Madi Potts are two more returning starters to keep an eye on this season.
Homan’s stats include 48 Ace serves, 127 kills, 19 blocks and 206 digs, while Potts has 62 kills, 12 blocks “she earned a spot 1⁄2 way into the season, and she will be a force this year for us,” Coach Cole said.
“The seven new freshmen that are entering are also very competitive and are developing and adjusting well to the speed of the HS level of play. We are hoping to compete with the majority of our matches and continue to grow as sound fundamental players and good teammates,” she added.

Managers of the team are Lainey Lee and Cayleigh Griffin.
The volleyball team kicked off their season on Aug. 27 at Southwest and Coach Cole said she “was pleased as to how we showed up and competed against both Southwest and McCook. We ran 2 different rotations and the girls adjusted very well to each one and each other.”
Today, Thursday August 29, the girls play at Creek Valley at 4:30 p.m.
