Rotary District Governor visits Grant
Rotary District Governor Lorena Beckius of Ogallala visited the Grant Rotary Club on Wednesday, Aug. 14, and presented her Rotary journey as a program.
Beckius was born and raised in Ecuador, and became acquainted with and interested in Rotary as a child, with her father actively involved in the organization there.
She spent a year in Ogallala as an exchange student, graduating from Ogallala High School in 2003, and also attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She returned to Ogallala after marrying David Beckius, fellow UNK student and also a graduate of Ogallala High School.
Beckius currently serves as the governor of District 5630, which includes 31 clubs in central and western Nebraska, including Grant and Ogallala.
The Grant Rotary Club is one of over 35,000 clubs worldwide. The organization strives to bring business and professional leaders together to provide services, encourage high ethical standards and advance goodwill and peace around the world.
