Busick bringing music talents to Venango April 4

On Friday, April 4, Eli Busick, son of Mellissa and Jared Potts of Grant, will be performing live music at American Crossroads Cafe in Venango, Nebraska. The event will start at 6 p.m. 

Busick was not born in Grant, however, his parents were, and his mom found her way back here during Busick’s early childhood. He then graduated Perkins County High School in 2023. 

Busick now works in Springfield, Nebraska as a welder and fabricator. He aspires to make a career out of his musical talent. “I would love to make music my full time career. My biggest goals are to be able to produce my own music and be able to tour the country,” says Busick.

Music has been apart of Busicks life since he was a young child. He has enjoyed singing throughout his life, and has chosen to play the guitar in more recent years. Several Artists have inspired him along the path to find his love for music. Amazingly enough, he is mostly self taught, with a little help from others here and there. 

“Artists such as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Neil Diamond really influenced me in the former half of my life. Now, I draw more influence from artists like Chris Stapleton, Tony Rice, and Zach Bryan. I am almost exclusively a self-taught singer and guitarist, but I’ve definitely had some crucial help along the way,” Busick said. 

Busick says he struggles with finding confidence in himself but stands firm in the idea that he can do anything he can set his mind to. He also has a strong support system made up of family and friends, he says. 

Busick added, “I’ve always had so many good friends and family at my back telling me to keep doing what I love. Their love and support is a huge part of my passion. I’d like to thank my family for all of their love, my friends for all of their support, and I thank Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for making me all that I am.”
