The Perkins County Plainsmen Track Team competed at the district track meet in Mitchell, Nebraska on May 15, 2025. The team had to persevere through tough weather conditions. However, multiple athletes, amongst several events, are now qualified for the state track meet. The meet will take place on May 23, 2025 and May 24,2025 at Omaha Burke Stadium. “We had a great day. Most of what I hoped would qualify did. Had a few I thought would or possibly could but it just didn’t work out. We really had to be mentally tough with the weather. Strong winds made some things interesting. Only 6 PR’s but it was more about the places not so much the times. Now back to training and see what we can do next week,” said Head Coach Shayne Hite.
