Boys Golf has had a successful season thus far.
They competed in Garden County on April 29, 2025. Zaybreon Hansen won the tournament. “Zaybreon played great and won the tournament. We had a solid team performance and are trending in the right direction. Oscar and Cade played solid and were in the top ten,” said Head Coach Mark Jolliffe.
Then they played at the SPVA conference tournament on Lake Maloney Golf Course on May 1, 2025. The team won the tournament, scoring a 331. Hansen finished in second place, scoring a 73. Oscar Boldt and Cade Kroeker finished in 6th place and 8th place in order.
At the Kimball tournament on May 8, 2025, the team finished fourth. “We did not perform well on the greens as our putting numbers were above our average. “Next up is Ogallala and then Districts. We are excited for the opportunity to qualify for state as a team. We know the course so that should be in our favor,” said Jolliffe on May 15.
District Golf took place on May 19, 2025 at Crandall Creek Golf Course in Ogallala. The team finished 3rd overall. Hansen finished fourth, scoring an 82. Kroeker finished seventh with an 83. “The team showed incredible grit and perseverance during a tough and windy day on the course. Several of our players played better on the back nine, which secured our trip to state. Myles Bishop, our 5th golfer, parred four of his last five holes, and his score helped us in the end.Super proud of Cade Kroeker, a freshman, for playing as steadily as he did in his first district competition. He shot 83 with two OBs on the back nine. Zaybreon had seven straight pars on the back nine to grind out an 82. His veteran presence will be missed in the years to come. He has been a top-five player in the area over the past four years,” said Jolliffe.

The boys will compete at the state tournament which takes place on May 28 and May 29 at Jackrabbit Run Golf Course in Grand Island. “At state the kids will need to channel their nerves to play their best. I believe this is a good course for our team and if we play well, a top-five finish is possible. The kids are excited and ready to enjoy the experience. Go Plainsmen!” said Jolliffe.
