June report for GVFD and PC Ambulance

For the month of June 2025, the Grant Fire Department and Perkins County Ambulance responded to 36 incidents during the month. 

The June incidents broke into 10 fire responses, five trauma responses, four medical incidents, one cardiac situation, four long distance transfer events, one motor vehicle accidents, three flights for life assists, and eight other EMS incidents.

For the year to date there have been 35 fire responses, 71 medical emergencies, 29 long distance transfers, eight flight for life events, and six vehicle accidents and one storm watch.

Eleven members of the department have now completed their “Red Card” annual requirements for wildland fire fighter qualifications with members completed the annual refresher training, fire shelter deployment and physical testing. 

On June 16, membership received training on Hyperthermia (heat related incidents) symptoms, treatment, and more including rhabdomyolysis. 

Several members attended a CO2 First Responders Tactical Response training provided by Tallgrass Pipeline and Rural Pipeline Association held at the Grant Fire Department on June 17.
