Gym gets face-lift

Image Total Fitness on Central Avenue has a fresh coat of paint to go with some other fresh new ideas! Owner Miah Long purchased the gym from Lauren Klima in April of 2024 and feels she has learned a lot in her first year of ownership.

“When I bought the gym just over a year ago, I had no idea what owning a business would truly entail. It’s been a lot of late nights and hard work, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything,” Long said, adding”Perkins County needs a space that brings life, fresh ideas, and health to the community—and I’m committed to providing exactly that!” The journey hasn’t been traveled alone though Long says, and she is grateful for support all around. 

 “I want to take this opportunity to thank my family for all their help with renovations, Lauren Klima for being an outstanding mentor, my work-study students from last year, Autumn Anderson for stepping in and lending a helping hand, and all of my wonderfully supportive members. The high school students have been a frequent and inspiring presence, consistently putting in the effort and hard work,” she said.  The Pilates classes, led by Miah’s mother, Nicole Long, have been very popular Long explained.

 Image Total Fitness located at 238 Central Ave in Grant has hours of Tuesday through Thursday, 1–6 p.m. They are available by phone at (308) 352-4099. 

Long invites the community to come check out what the gym has to offer and said she has more in store, “we have many exciting classes and new projects in the works that I can’t wait to share!”
