Auction and meal fundraiser to be held in Madrid this Saturday

The Perkins County Grub Grab and Auction to benefit Western Sky Community Care Center will be held Oct. 4 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Wheatland Wedding and Event Center (the old school) in Madrid.

Those attending can enjoy a variety of food, along with pie and ice cream. The auction will start at 6 p.m.

Fundraising Chairman Doris Olsen said more than 70 items will be available at the auction. A few of those include: 1) Several fall pivot inspections; 2) Cordless air inflator; 3) Wine-tasting basket; 4) Trailer supplies; 5) Ground beef packages; 6) Handmade coffee table; 7) Ten gift certificates to The Lighthouse; 8) Wooden barn sign; 9) Supplies for hunters; 10) Burrito packs; 11) Husker volleyball autographed by John Cook; 12) Bicentennial silver coin; 13) One week stay at Branson; 14) Cordless rechargeable power wrench; 15) Cordless rechargeable 18v power saws and accessories; 16) Flower with $50 gift certificates from three businesses; 17) Three quilts; 18) Two decorative metal landscape roses with three “blooms” each; 19) Two-night stay at Estes Park between Nov. 1, 2025 and April 1, 2026; 20) Large gun safe; 21) Irrigation monitoring and control panel; 22) Quart containers of honey; 23) Pies for auction. 

“We have been blessed by so many people,” Olsen said. “Please come to the Grub Grab to have some good food and fall fun.”
