Meet your local law enforcement: PC Sheriff’s Deputy Duncan Einspahr

Chief Deputy Duncan Einspahr brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the Perkins County Sheriff’s Office, combining military service, law enforcement expertise, and strong community ties.

Einspahr, 41, is originally from Lincoln, Neb., though he has family roots in Imperial and Grant. His journey to law enforcement began with service in the Marine Corps, where he served as a machine gunner from 2001 to 2005, including a combat deployment to Ramadi, Iraq, in 2004.

Following his military service, Einspahr earned a bachelor’s degree in criminology and criminal justice from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2011. He worked as a housing unit caseworker at the Lincoln Correctional Center, a maximum-security facility, before joining the Perkins County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy in 2014. After a brief tenure, he moved to Chase County, where he served as a deputy sheriff until 2024. Einspahr then returned briefly to the Nebraska Department of Corrections before coming back to Perkins County in 2025.

Although Einspahr currently resides in Imperial with his wife and two children, he has maintained strong ties to Perkins County. “It is an amazing community and an honor to serve here. The people are what I love most about the community. They are honest, genuine and hardworking,” he said.

Einspahr’s career reflects a commitment to public service and community engagement. He said he enjoys cooking on his Blackstone grill and spending time with his family in his free time.

While many of Einspahr’s daily responsibilities remain confidential for operational security, his role as chief deputy involves overseeing deputies, coordinating office functions, and supporting Sheriff Jeffrey Scott Miller in maintaining public safety throughout Perkins County.

Einspahr said that being part of a close-knit community and serving the people of Perkins County is among the most rewarding aspects of his work. “The people here make it worth it,” he said.
