Jacqueline Gloy, Perkins County High School Senior, competed at the girls state golf tournament on October 13 and 14. The Tournament took place at Lake Maloney Golf Course in North Platte, Nebraska.
On the first day, Gloy had to adjust to the cold and wet conditions. Once she got in the swing of things she was able to shoot pars consistently. “I didn’t play my best rounds at the state meet, but was able to find small success both days. After a rough first 14 holes of golf on the first day, I was able to finish strong with 4 straight pars. I felt like I had some momentum going into day two, even though it wasn’t a great round,” Gloy recalling her first day of competition. In total, Gloy totaled a 98.
The second day was an improvement from the first. However, the weather was still uncooperative. Gloy Shot a 90, eight strokes better than the first round. “Day two was a little bit better, I just couldn’t get putts to go in, and wasn’t hitting the correct shots,” she said, “It is always fun competing in the state golf tournament no matter the conditions or scores that I post. With that being said, I didn’t play my best rounds at the state meet, but was able to find small success both days.”
