Joliffee submits resignation as PCHS superintendent effective end of 2025-26 school year

During its Monday, Oct. 20 meeting, the Perkins County High School Board accepted the resignation of Superintendent Mark Joliffee effective at the end of the 2025-26 school year. In his resignation letter Joliffee stated he intends to pursue superintendent positions closer to family. The board thanked Joliffee for his service.
Joliffee has held the position of PCHS Superintendent since 2023 when he was hired to fill the position left vacant with the resignation Superintendent Phillip Picquet. Originally from the Scottsbluff area, Joliffee spent most of educational career in the large metropolitan area of Wichita, Kansas, where he served as teacher, coach and eventually in administration.
“I wish nothing but the best for Perkins County Schools,” he said.
The board immediately began the search for a replacement during the evening by meeting with a representative of the Nebraska Association of School Boards’ Superintendent Search Service, which was utilized in past with the process.
