Perkins County Play Production earns district runner-up honors

The Perkins County High School Play Production team delivered a standout performance at the C2-6 District competition, earning the title of District Runner-Up with their production of Competition Piece by John S. Wells.

The cast’s hard work and talent were recognized with several individual honors. Top 10 Cast awards went to Kaylynn Macke, Paige Franklin, Cecilia Putnam, Kinley Bottom, Savannah Miller, Emily Wilson, Rodolfo Aragon, Anley Sayder, and Ethan Swesey—an impressive sweep for the Plainsmen.

Two performers, Kaylynn Macke and Cecilia Putnam, earned additional distinction as Top 2 Actors, highlighting their exceptional stage presence and dedication to their roles.

The production was led by Head Director Peyton Rowley and Assistant Director Bailey Armstrong, who guided the team through weeks of preparation to bring the show to life.

“I am quite excited to present this piece to the community,” said Head Coach Peyton Rowley. “The student actors have been working so diligently to create a show they are proud to share.”

Competition Piece is a fast-paced, humorous look at the world of competitive theater, offering students the chance to showcase a wide range of acting skills. Perkins County’s performers embraced the challenge, earning praise from judges and solidifying their reputation for excellence in the district.
