The Perkins County Sheriff’s Office has been busy addressing some suspicious and illegal activities occurring in the southwest corner of Perkins County, and were especially busy over the past week, according to Sheriff J. Scott Miller.

Patten

According to Sheriff Miller, on Wednesday, Jan. 7, Joshua A. Patten of Venango was arrested near Lamar on two separate warrants by a Perkins County Sheriff’s Deputy with the assistance of Chase County Sheriff’s Deputies. Patten was transported to the Keith County Jail on charges of felony failure to register as a sex offender in Venango and misdemeanor failure to appear in court for prior marijuana possession charges.

A Perkins County Court arrest warrant was issued for the sex offender registry violation with a bond of $25,000.00 10 percent as well as a bench warrant with a $5,000.00 10 percent bond that was issued for failure to appear.  Patten is currently still in custody, Miller said.

Kuskie

On Thursday, Jan. 8, Gabriel L. Kuskie was arrested in Venango by Perkins County Sheriff’s Deputies on a warrant from the Chase County Court. The warrant stemmed from a violation of post-release supervision provisions tied to prior assault charges in Chase County. Kuskie was transported to the Chase County Jail and booked into their facility without incident. Bond was set at $25,000.00 10 percent, and Kuskie is still in custody, Miller said.

Bartorelli

On Monday, Jan. 12, the Perkins County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious vehicle that had been seen pulling into and parking at an abandoned rural farmstead south of Brandon. Sheriff Miller responded to the scene and made contact with Lindsey N. Bartorelli, formerly from Nevada and who has been living in the area, Miller said. Bartorelli did not have permission to be on the property, which was clearly marked with “No Trespassing” signs, he said. Bartorelli was placed under arrest for second degree trespassing and driving under suspension and transported to the Keith County Jail without incident.

The vehicle she was driving was towed and impounded, and during the inventory of the vehicle, a container with several grams of suspected methamphetamine was located with Bartorelli’s belongings, of which additional charges may be filed. Bartorelli posted bond, which was set at $15,000.00 10 percent, and is awaiting arraignment.

“We’ve been busy working the southwest corner of the county trying to clean up some suspicious and illegal activities that have been occurring in the area in order to provide a little more peace and security to the citizens living there and throughout the county as a whole,” Sheriff Miller said. “The Chase County Sheriff’s Office has also been doing their part on their side of the county line to address these issues.”
