Thank you to 2025 Fund Donors
The The Perkins County Community Foundation Fund, PCCFF, has recently received substantial year-end financial support. The Fund Advisory Committee of PCCFF is grateful for the support and confidence that the local citizens have in the Fund’s mission to “enrich community values through sharing financial and human resources.” Nearly 50 donors added over $44,500 in 2025 annual and year-end giving to the Fund’s unrestricted endowment fund. This surpasses the previous year-end gifts, although the number of participating donors were down slightly.
The Fund now has endowment funds of over $950,000 as of December 31, 2025 up nearly $100,000 from a year ago, following improvements in investment markets and additions from the year end contributions. The endowments are managed by the Nebraska Community Foundation, NCF, which also manages some $50 million in unrestricted endowed assets for 103 other “community based affiliated funds” in Nebraska, like the Perkins County Fund. Earnings on the endowment investments presently provide 4.5% annual “payout” with additional earnings providing growth to the endowment assets.
Currently the PCCFF is receiving a “payout” of some $37,500 in the current fiscal year, including $4000 “carried forward” from the previous fiscal year. This level of funding is available for local projects through June 30, 2026. In January, some $5000 in grant funding supported the Elsie Economic Development Organization, Youth Arts Program Missoula Theater, Perkins County Backpack Program and the Meadowlark Art Gallery of the Area Arts Council. Over 125 projects have been funded since 2003, when PCCFF was founded, utilizing some $200,000 in grant support from the Fund.
A twelve quarter “rolling average” is used to determine payout, which provides stability through variations in annual economics. New contributions to endowment accounts would potentially increase payout in the future. Payout from the Fund is used to provide grants for local community projects within Perkins County.
Local Fund expenses for mailings, ads, printing and miscellaneous items are near $3000 per year. The Fund Advisory Committee, FAC, is currently seeking ways to reduce costs, especially for postage, which has increased significantly. Fees for affiliated funds of the Nebraska Community Foundation are $300 per quarter plus a “support fee” for endowed assets. These costs are also paid from Fund “payout”. Fees, for example, are utilized to provide excellent support to affiliated funds including training, publications and technical support.
The Advisory Committee of the Perkins County Community Foundation Fund wishes to thank all the generous donors for their continuing support of the Fund’s vision of “vibrant communities and a high quality of life” for the County. The folks of Perkins County are very generous! For more information or the 2025 Annual Report of the Fund, contact Michelle Ross at Pinnacle Bank..
