Tara (Krajewski) Sudbeck hired as new PCS Jr./Sr. High Principal

Perkins County School’s 2007 graduate Tara (Krajewski) Sudbeck has been hired by the district to serve in the position of 7th-12th grade principal starting July, 2026. The PCS Board approved Sudbeck’s contract at its Monday, Feb. 16 meeting.
Sudbeck will fill the position that will be left open with the leaving of current 7th-12th grade principal Dalton Pettera, who has accepted a similar position in St. Paul, Neb. The board also formally accepted Pettera’s resignation during its Monday, Feb. 16 meeting.
Sudbeck currently teaches middle school science in Ogallala, and recently completed her 7–12 principal master’s degree at UNK. Her experiences as a former special education teacher in a school near Kansas City, and also as the mother of special needs child, inspired her to pursue a career in administration, she said.
“I’m excited to be home. This feels full circle. It feels like a culmination of all my experiences, and I feel comfortable already,” Sudbeck said.
Sudbeck and her husband, Luke, who works as a lineman for Tri-State, currently live in Ogallala and have two children, a 12-year-old and a 4-year-old, who they plan to enroll in Perkins County Schools as the family transitions to the community.
Sudbeck is the daughter of Chuck and Linda Krajewski of Venango. Look to the Tribune for more of an in-depth article on Sudbeck in the near future.
