Governor Pillen accepts invitation to WSCCC Open House

Governor Jim Pillen’s office said that Governor Pillen has accepted the board’s invitation to attend the Western Sky Community Care Center Open House on March 21 in Grant. The open house will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., with Governor Pillen offering remarks at 2:00 p.m.

Western Sky broke ground for the new nursing home on April 23, 2025. “Construction finished ahead of schedule and under budget,” said board president Mark Bottom. “That almost never happens.”

Western Sky will operate as a nonprofit, skilled nursing home, licensed for 44 beds. It is funded by the USDA. Perkins County and the surrounding communities contributed more than $3 million to support the project, which will restore nursing home care to the Perkins County area. Hiring is underway for a planned opening in April 2026.

Guests at the open house will have the opportunity to tour the facility and enjoy light refreshments.

“Please put March 21 on your calendar and plan to attend,” Bottom said.
