First Dollars

During the meeting, First Dollars were awarded to Grant Housing Authority/Sunset Haven and Imperial Beef.

Mindy Dickinson with the Grant Housing Authority has been the manager for four years. The housing authority was first established in 1963 and completed in 1965. They have 20 units, with 18 occupied now. They are doing updates to the units, including new carpet or hardwood flooring, updated bathrooms and electrical work, and any other projects they see needing improvement. The units are HUD-affiliated, and applications can be picked up at the housing authority’s office. For more information call 308-352-4346.

Lesley Nordhousen with Imperial Beef reported they have been in business since 1980, founded by Bob Foote, father of current owner Brad Foote, with locations in both Nebraska and Kansas. They have over 70 employees and have some housing at the feedlot for employees. Some of them live locally in surrounding communities. The company buys local corn, feed, and hay. They support local organizations in many ways. Their contact number is 308-882-2222.
