Much needed moisture: rain finally falls in Perkins County

Rain fell across Perkins County in April, bringing the county’s monthly total to 1.24 inches and pushing 2026 precipitation ahead of earlier months, which saw 0.287 inches in January, 0.612 in February and 0.721 in March, according to Nebraska Department of Natural Resources data. The moisture offers a welcome boost for crops and pastureland following a dry winter and early spring, though totals remain below the typical 3 to 4 inches received by this point in the year.
