AJ Palser

AJ Palser, 43, of Chappell, Nebraska passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019 as the result of a farm accident.

Anthony Jay Palser was born on June 22, 1975 in Ogallala to Gregory Jay and Jackie Lee (Christensen) Palser. He began his life in Big Springs until the family moved to Oregon in 1977, settling in Newport, Oregon where he attended school. 

After high school he went to Texas and other parts of the country to work. For many years he farmed in the Chappell and Sedgwick, Colorado area with his mother and grandfather Tony, and in the last year he farmed with his father.

AJ loved his farm, his many animals, fishing, gardening and working on his guns. He had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and educated himself constantly. AJ and Jackie enjoyed canning what they produced in their garden. He will be fondly remembered as a tenderhearted man and son.

Survivors include his mother, Jackie Palser of Chappell; father, Greg and wife Debbie Palser of Newport, Ore.; grandmother, Mary Helen Palser of Ogallala; aunts and uncles, Larry Christensen of Chappell, Joyce Booth of Tangent, Ore., Carol Palser of Franklin, Tenn., Nita and Mark McGreer of Big Springs, Marilyn and Reverend Ken Volkert of Senguin, Texas, Ivan Gene Palser of Ogallala, and William and Terri Palser of Carrollton, Texas and many cousins and friends.

AJ was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Anthony and Violet Christensen and paternal grandfather, Ivan Jay Palser; uncles, Richard Edgar Palser in 1979 and Roy Mitchell.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home in Chappell with Pastor Todd Lanman of the Big Springs Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial followed in the Sedgwick Cemetery.
