Collin Penrod

Collin Alexander Penrod, 18, of Grant, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017.

Collin was born June 7, 1999 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Platte Valley Elementary and Middle School in Kersey, Colorado and high school at South Platte High School in Big Springs, Neb.

Collin was a remarkable young man for his age. Family and community were always his number one priorities. He put his whole heart into everything he did and went out of his way to make everyone feel included.

Collin loved all things sports. He played football, basketball, participated in track, and was part of many other groups at school including Honor Roll, FFA, band and speech. In his studies he took special interest in Spanish and woodworking, and was tremendously skilled whenever he set out to create a new project.

He was loved by all his peers, and showed incredible compassion and sportsmanship on and off the field.

In his free time you would find him working, doing volunteer work in his community, or spending time with his siblings. His positive attitude and glowing smile were infectious to anyone near him, and he could always make you laugh even when you didn’t want to. No matter how he was feeling himself, he strived to make others happy and comfortable. Collin was the type of person you meet once in a lifetime and he touched the lives of so many during his short time on earth. To everyone who knew and loved him, the world will seem a little darker and he will be greatly missed.
