Don Lundvall

Donald Glen “Bud” Lundvall, 89, of Grant, Nebraska, passed away Monday, Nov. 12, 2018 at Great Plains Health in North Platte.

Donald was born on March 18, 1929 to Glen and Violet (Moline) Lundvall in Holdrege, Neb. He grew up on a farm southwest of Wallace, Neb., and attended Wallace Schools graduating with the Class of 1946.

Don married Donna Jean Trusty on April 8, 1949 in the Wallace Methodist Church parsonage. Don and Donna farmed near Wallace until September, 1966 at which time the family moved to Grand Island, Neb. Don worked for Ford New Holland for 25 years, working as a welder and quality controller. 

Don retired in 1991, at which time he and Donna began traveling and volunteering with Roving Volunteers in Christ’s Service (RVICS). They traveled with this group several winters, helping with camps and churches. They moved to Grant in 1995 and became involved with the Grant Evangelical Church, where Don served in many capacities. He accepted Christ as his personal savior as a youth and lived his life to honor God. 

Don is remembered as a man of few words but his impact and influence were far-reaching. Don was a hard-working man who loved the land, his family and his God.

Don is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Janice Rawlings; granddaughter, Heidi Franklin; brother, Dean Lundvall and brother-in-law, Don Young.

Don is survived by his wife of 69 years, Donna of Grant; Karen (Dean) Franklin of Wallace; Tim (Cindy) Lundvall of Wallace; Kelli (Scott) Holechek of Lincoln; sister, Dorothy Young of Holdrege, and sister-in-law, Marita Lundvall of Wallace. 

He leaves a legacy with 10 grandchildren, 21 great- grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A memorial has been established to Camp Machasay, Venango, Neb., in his memory. 

Condolences can be shared at bullocklongfuneralhome.com. Services were held Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018 at the Grant Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Russ Gaar officiating. Burial was in the Morning View Cemetery at Wallace.
