Doris Clemens, age 98, of North Platte, died October 16, 2021 at Linden Court. She was born on June 3, 1923 on a farm in western Kansas to Willard and Ruth (Bates) Broyles. 

She attended country school through the eighth grade and attended high school in Oberlin, Kansas. She received her diploma through the American Correspondence School in Chicago. Doris married Virgil “Bud” Clemens on November 6, 1940 at Woodston, Kansas. They lived on the family farm, south of Wallace, Nebraska until 1981, when they retired and moved to North Platte. They moved back to Wallace in 1983. On October 7, 2004 they returned to North Platte where they resided until Bud’s passing in 2006. Doris lived in Linden Estates until moving to Linden Court in 2017 where she resided until her death.

Doris accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at the age of 13. She was a faithful follower of her Lord and was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She was a member of the Happy Circle Extension Club, attended Bible studies and Christian Women’s Club. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, fancy work, puzzles, games and spending time with her family.

Doris is survived by children Marcia Seip, North Platte, Neb., Rick Seip, Wallace, Neb., Jo Ann (Brian) Gibson of Grand Island, Neb.; seven grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bud of 65 years; son Vince Clemens; two sisters; one brother. 

A memorial has been established to Franklin Graham Samaritan’s Purse. 

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 22, 2021, at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home with Rev. Carey Higgins and Rev. Dave Logsdon, officiating. Burial will follow at Morning View in Wallace, Nebraska. Visitation will be noon – 5:00, Thursday, October 21. Adams and Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
