Dorothy Magers, 91, of Sidney, Nebraska passed away June 4, 2018 at Grace Pointe Rehabilitation in Greeley, Colorado. 

She was born July 22, 1926 in Elsie, Neb., to Gust and Florence (Fosbinder) Nelson.

Dorothy married Dale Edward Magers on Dec. 30, 1945 in Elsie.

She worked as a bank teller for a number of years and was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, Daughters of Rebekah, Westview Church of Christ and NCMC volunteer. 

Dorothy had recently moved back to Nebraska to be near family. She enjoyed crafting, ceramics, woodworking with Dale, sewing and baking her family-favorite cinnamon rolls.

Thankful to have shared her life are her children: Linda (Moose) Shoemaker of Potter, Neb., and Paula (Randy) Melhauser-Schuermann of Chesterfield, Missouri; five grandchildren: Jeff (Julia) Melhauser of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Chris Melhauser of Chicago, Preston Melhauser of Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Shawn (Nicole) Shoemaker of Potter and Shannon (Mark) Ostransky of Fremont, Neb.; six great-grandchildren: Jayden, Kenzie, Alexa and Krickett Shoemaker, Madison and Miles Ostransky; sister, Sharon (Ed) Newton of Barrington, Rhode Island and brother, Frank (Betty) Royse of Kearney, Neb.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister.

Life Celebration service took place Sunday, June 10 at Westview Church of Christ in Greeley. Inurnment at Fort McPherson National Cemetery will be at a later date.
