Edwin Krajewski

Edwin Krajewski, 76 of Grant, Nebraska passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln.

Edwin was born Jan. 29, 1941 in Ogallala, Neb., to Gerald and Rose (Kumor) Krajewski. Edwin attended rural school southwest of Brandon before graduating from St. Patrick’s High School in Sidney, Neb. with the class of 1958.

On Jan. 2, 1960, Edwin married LaVonna Whitman at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Ogallala, Neb. The couple made their home north of Brandon, Neb., where they farmed and raised their family. Edwin had been involved in farming and agriculture his entire life, and loved nothing more than being involved in the family farm.

Edwin was a longtime member of the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Grant and was both a charter and 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Hi-Line Council #778.

Edwin loved to farm.  He was a Farm Bureau board member for over 20 years, and was a wonderful steward of the land and animals. Edwin served as the keeper and caretaker of countless dogs, cats, pigs and other various animals over the years.

He also thoroughly enjoyed the experience of buying and selling cattle.

Edwin was a collector of many different things, including die cast toys, belt buckles, coins, and hats, just to name a few. It wasn’t uncommon to find Edwin at the auctions, enjoying the company of friends and perusing the items in search of his next collectable.

Perhaps most notably, Edwin was a man of family.  Krajewski family gatherings weren’t complete without gathering around the table for story-telling and a game of pitch. Edwin enjoyed being a part of a large family his entire life, with some of his most cherished memories being made alongside his children and grandchildren.

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Maya Bibins, and brother-in-law Dwight Beckman.

Survivors include his wife, LaVonna of Grant; children, Chuck (Linda) Krajewski of Venango, Neb., Deb (Kevin) Armknecht of Ogallala, Terry (Kami) Krajewski of Grant, Sheri (Eric L. Sr.) Bibins of Stone Mountain, Georgia.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six siblings, Mary (Andy) Krajewski of Smithfield, Neb., Phyllis (Larry) Holscher of Ogallala, Joe (Jody) Krajewski of Grant, Joyce Beckman of Venango, Ruth (Lonnie) Saltz of Raymond, Neb., Geri Krajewski-Hobbs of Sacramento, California; brother-in-law, Sharol (Linda) Whitman of New Liberia, Louisiana; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorials are suggested to Perkins County Hospital Cardiac Rehab in Edwin’s memory. Condolences may be shared at bullocklongfuneralhome.com, where the service will be streamed live for those unable to attend.
