Gary F. Glinn age 71 of Keystone died Saturday, December 5, 2020 at the Perkins County Hospital in Grant.

Gary was born Oct 1, 1949 to Francis “Pete” and Mary Ann (Cullinan) Glinn. He attended rural schools at Keystone for his early education; in 1967 he graduated from Grant High School in Grant. He attended Kearney State College graduating in 1971. He began selling insurance after college for a short time. He married JoAnn Kayton, of Chappell, Neb. at Lodgepole, Neb. in September 1971. The couple resided in Paxton where he worked for a farmer. They moved to Keystone in 1972 and began ranching with his father and brothers. They then moved to Arthur County and lived on the Simpson place. Gary returned to Keystone in October 1978. Gary worked with his father and brothers for several years. In the 90’s he sold seed corn in addition to his ranching. In July 1997 Gary married Linda (Armknecht) of Ogallala, making their home on the ranch. The last few years Gary was fortunate to work with his son and grandson on the ranch, for a history of 50 years of ranching.

Gary was a Huskers fan, and a Yankees fan, he enjoyed watching college football, and sports history.

Gary was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, a previous member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. 

Gary is survived by his wife Linda, daughters Amy Glinn, Keystone; Tracie (Dale) Brueggeman, Ogallala; Megan (Scott) Nowak, Keystone; Jennifer Knapp, Ogallala, son Curtis Knapp, Ogallala. Brothers Jack Glinn, Ogallala; Scott (Julie) Glinn, Keystone; and sisters Dayle (Wayne) Klein, Loup City; Janell (Jim) McGowan, Puyalla, Wash.; Uncle Robert Cullinan, North Platte; Aunt Helen “Honey” Damman, McQueeny, Texas. Eleven grandchildren, Roper Chandler, Reece Glinn, Keystone; Kyla Brueggeman (Casey Boardman) Morril, Neb.; Kayton Brueggeman, Ogallala; Presley Nowak, Kolby Nowak, all of Keystone; Chase Kelly, Jillian Kelly, Corbin Kelly, all of Ogallala; Noah Knapp, Fort Collins; and Sophia Knapp, Kearney, Neb. The first great grandchild is expected in March 2021.

He was preceded in death by his first wife JoAnn (Kayton) Glinn in 1978, parents Francis “Pete” and Mary Ann Glinn in 1992 and 2004 respectively, sister Lori Glinn in 1963, nephew Dusty Glinn in December 2006, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Funeral services were held at St. John’s Lutheran Church - rural Ogallala on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020 at 11:00 am. Rev. Albert Bader officiated.

Visitation was Friday Dec. 11, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. with family greeting friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Draucker Funeral Home.

Interment will be in St. Johns Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the Callahan Cancer Center and St Johns Lutheran Church.
