Joya Neville

Joya Neville, 60, of Grant, Nebraska, passed away on March 16, 2018. 

Joya was born June 5, 1957 in Hays, Kansas to Bryan and Norma (Connally) Weems. She graduated from St. Francis High School in 1976.

Joya married Keith Neville on April 23, 1977 in St. Francis, Kan. The couple made their home in St. Francis until moving to Benkelman, Neb., in 1985. Joya was the mother of four children, Heather, Bryan, William and Kylor.

Joya worked at a number of businesses during her life, most notably at Am First Bank in Benkelman and most recently, Western States Bank of Grant. 

Joya was always generous with her time. She volunteered regularly with community, school and church activities. She was a very talented flutist and shared her natural vibrato through her music. Joya loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

She is survived by her children Heather (Gerry) Baksys of Hickman, Neb., Bryan (Tammi) Neville of Moorhead, Minn., William (Ann) Neville of Elwood, Neb., Kylor (Amy) Neville of Minden, Neb., her father Bryan Weems of Thornton, Colorado; her mother Norma Weems (Eldon Zimbelman) of St. Francis; four brothers, Willie (Connie) Weems of Goodland, Kan., Mike (Brenda) Weems and Jerry Weems, both of Wichita, Kan., and Tim Weems of Killeen, Texas; one sister, Eva Ehrlich of Haysville, Kan.; Husband of 33 years, Keith Neville of Benkelman and special friend Les Barbee of Grant; seven grandchildren, Aspen, Jadyn, Nathan, Joshua, Axel, Ayva and Ajax; and many nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 22 at 10 a.m. MT, at First Christian Church in St. Francis, 118 E Webster St.

Inurnment will follow at the St. Francis Cemetery.
