Lawrence Earl Gardner, 81, of Wallace, Nebraska, passed away Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Neb.

Lawrence was born March 26, 1936 in Denver, to Floyd and Marcella (Goodell) Gardner. He lived in the Denver area for most of his life. 

Lawrence met Carole and lived a good life. He worked in the construction field for many years until he landed a job with Jefferson County Schools as a custodian. He retired from that position in 2002 and moved to Wallace.

When Lawrence wasn’t working, he could be found caring for his yard and tinkering around on various projects. Mostly, Lawrence cherished the time he could spend with his family, whom he loved very much.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Vivian Moore, Sally Knudsen and Terri Alderson; and two brothers, James and Gilbert.

He is survived by his wife, Carole Gardner of Wallace; children, Mike McLean of California; Roger (Julie) McLean of Colorado; Cindy Gardner of Nebraska; Penny Padilla of Arizona; Tina Daniels of Nebraska; and Larry Gardner of Colorado; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; brother, Chuck Gardner of Colorado; and many other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sept. 23, 2017 at 1 p.m. CT at the American Legion in Wallace.
