Les Potts Jr., 69 of Grant, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, at the Perkins County Hospital.

Les was born Oct. 16, 1949, at Oxford, Nebraska and became a blessing to Dr. L.C. and Royce (Walters) Potts. He graduated from Perkins County High School with the class of 1967 and subsequently attended college at UNL and later Denver.

Les eventually moved back to the family farm. On July 6, 1973, Les married Karen S. Cobaugh at Grant, where the couple made their home until the mid-1980s when they moved to Holyoke, Colorado, where they owned and operated a lawn and garden store.

The family eventually moved to California, where Les worked in construction and sold cars before returning to Grant in 1992. Most recently, Les had worked in car sales at Jason Zoellner Ford in Ogallala, which eventually became Wolf Auto.

Les was known for his gregarious personality. He loved people and had a way of lifting the spirits of the people around him. He enjoyed spending time out on the golf course when he could, and in younger years, really enjoyed racquetball. Les loved spending time around his grandchildren, who gave him great joy in life. Les was also serious about placing his faith in Jesus and trusting in His promises.

Les was preceded in death by his dad, Dr. L.C. Potts.

Survivors include his wife, Karen of Grant; children, Sean Potts of Ft. Collins, Colo., Regina Carlini of Irvine, Calif., Dustin Potts of New Jersey, and Seth Potts of Grant; grandchildren, Antony, and Kathyrine Carlini, Slone, Harper, and Norah Potts; his mother, Royce Potts of Grant; siblings, John (Darlene) Potts, Genie (Gaylord) Bishop, Deb (Rick) Tatum all of Grant; siblings-in-law, Jan (Rich) Adrian of Casper, Wyo; Darrell Jurgena of Fairbury, Neb., Joyce Seffron of Menifee, Calif., Patty (Don) Fuqua of Menifee, Calif.; Gary Cobaugh of Ogallala, Neb.; Joe (Cindy) Cobaugh of Grant; Tony Cobaugh of Cozad, Neb.; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
