Myra “Lee” Ford, 92, of Glendale, Arizona passed away peacefully, Wednesday, Jan. 16, at home with her family surrounding her.

Lee was born to parents, Kenneth and Louise Howell on Nov. 3, 1926 in the State of Colorado. Lee grew up in Beverly Hills where she was a gymnast and went to high school with several well-known actors like Betty Davis and Shirley Temple Black.

Lee moved to Nebraska where she met the love of her life, William (Bill) Lloyd Ford. They were married on March 3, 1947 and bought a small farm in Grainton, Nebraska.

Bill and Lee had two sons, David Lloyd and Douglas Lee, who were raised on the farm. They lived on the farm for 28 years until they retired in 1974 and moved to Littleton, Colorado.

The Fords enjoyed traveling, camping and going on cruises. On one of their many expeditions they traveled to Alaska, where they posted their name on a sign post plate in Lake Watson’s sign post forest, a historical site.

Bill and Lee moved to Casa Del Sol in Glendale, Ariz., in 1987, where they met many friends including their dear friends, Bill and Jean Waltman.

Lee was an energetic, hard worker who volunteered her time to help those in need. She volunteered her time at the food bank, in the thrift shop at Glen Croft and even helped make sleeping mats for the homeless.

Lee moved to Glen Croft after Bill passed where she made countless friends and was involved with many of the activities they had, including a role in a play. She also met her beloved friend Dorothy at Glen Croft. They took daily walks together, got into all kinds of mischief and sat on the infamous blue bench.
