Sherry June (Rippe) Coleman was born July 12, 1956, in Denver, Colorado, to Nelda (Holl) and Arnold Rippe. She grew up on the family dairy farm and graduated from Weld Central High School in 1975.  Sherry was asked to help in fall harvest near Imperial, Nebraska. There, in the middle of a corn field, she met the love of her life, Lyle. The couple was wed on Feb. 14, 1982, at Grace Lutheran Church in Hudson, Colorado. Sherry worked with Lyle on his family’s farm, and she was later employed at the Imperial Manor where she worked until her retirement.  Sherry loved living with Lyle in the country. She adored her friends and neighbors. Sherry would host an annual barbeque for them as a way to say thanks. Her love of beauty and creation in the simplest of things gave her joy: wildflowers, sunsets and even a pair of baby badgers playing in the road.  Sherry was known for her artistic talent and her dry sense of humor. She was dedicated to her community, caretaking the Blanche Cemetery with Lyle for 28 years until their health declined.  Sherry passed away on Oct. 26, 2021, at the age of 65 after a tough battle with Parkinson’s disease. Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Arnold Rippe. Survivors include her husband, Lyle, of North Platte; mother, Nelda Rippe; sister, Wanda Lambert; brother, David Rippe; nephews: Blake, Joshua, Michael and Wade; nieces: Kyle, Macy and Mallory; five great nephews and nieces. Funeral services for Sherry were held Monday morning, Nov., 1 at Zion Lutheran Church, Imperial, with Pastor David Kahle officiating. Inurnment followed at the Blanche Cemetery, rural Imperial. A memorial has been established to Zion Lutheran Church or the Blanche Cemetery.  Online condolences may be left at liewerfuneralhome.com. Liewer Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
