Socorro Maria Murillo was born August 4, 1941, in Rotan, Texas, to Fernando and Laurencia (Fernadez) Perez. As a young girl, Socorro grew up and attended school in Texas before moving to Colorado.

Socorro met Gregorio Murillo in Colorado and the couple were married on September 7, 1967, in Greeley. Socorro and Gregorio settled in Ft. Lupton, Colorado, where they lived for several years before making Imperial, Nebraska, their home. Socorro was a homemaker and a daycare provider. She was also a Girl Scout troop leader.

Socorro enjoyed listening to music and driving around with Gregorio. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Socorro passed away December 12, 2020, at her home in Imperial, Nebraska. She was 79 years of age.

Socorro was preceded in death by her parents Fernando and Laurencia Perez; husband Gregorio Murillo; brothers Alejandro and Oscar Perez; sisters Carmen and Connie Perez; and grandson Luiz Quezada.

Survivors include daughter Esperanza “Jessie” Murillo of Imperial; son Gregorio Murillo III and wife Maria of Imperial; daughter Mary Quezada and husband Jaime of Imperial; daughter Irma Munoz and husband Ruben of Imperial; daughter Angie Murillo of Imperial; son Ray Murillo and Stacy Fosbinder of Imperial; daughter Veronica Murillo of Imperial; grandchildren:Abraham Ramos, Maria Ramos, Carolina Ramos, Catarina Ramos, Mark Murillo, Abby Murillo, Gilberto Murillo, Gabriela Murillo, Antonio Quezada, Jamie Quezada, Ramon Varay, Juan Varay, Erica Varay, Josie Garcia, Alondra Garcia, Isabella Torres, Pricilla Torres, Krista Murillo, Caitlyn Murillo, Ray Murillo, Tiffany Castle, Brittney Simeon and Zach Murillo; 25 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law: Rey Murillo and wife Stella of Brownsville, Texas.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 19, 2020, 10:00 a.m. MT, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Imperial, Neb., with Father Lothar Gilde officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial.

Visitation will be held Friday afternoon, December 18, 2020, 2:00-7:00 p.m. MT, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Imperial.

A Rosary will be recited Friday evening, December 18, 2020, 7:00 p.m. MT, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Imperial. A memorial has been suggested to the Murillo Family for a future designation. Online condolences may be left at liewerfuneralhome.com
