This year we celebrate our nation’s 246 birthday. Since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, values of freedom of speech and democracy are foundation pillars that have helped make our country great and make us a model for other countries around the world. 

The Grant Tribune-Sentinel has expressed our community freedom by recording and publishing the stories that have been important to local residents. We take our obligation to record and publish your hometown news seriously and we work hard to exceed your expectations covering your community each and every day. We approach each day with the understanding that topics that are important and unique to our community are made possible by generations of Americans who have defended our freedoms.

We honor our men and women in the armed forces, past, present, and future, and thank the countless generations who have served from Perkins County. We believe The Grant Tribune-Sentinel has an obligation to continuously lead the way being the watchdog of personal freedoms within the community. Thus, today we continue to adapt and become more diverse, to carry out our core mission of informing Perkins County residents via freedom of speech and freedom of the press.

It is my philosophy that a local newspaper should promote its community and should inform on issues that are relevant to people and the community as a whole. Understanding and capturing the diverse interest within Perkins County and advocating for good government are things we do not take lightly.
