Letter to the Editor: Eagle Scout mom not pleased with project plaque removal

An Eagle Scout project is the culmination of much time invested, beginning with Tiger Cubs.

This project for Golden Ours Convalescent Home was chosen to give the residents and staff an enjoyable viewing area. It had become overrun with weeds. The project was made as maintenance-free as possible with a dry creek bed, xeriscape plantings, drip irrigation and a water feature.

I have volunteered for the last NINE years to help with upkeep, but after several “bumps in the road,” I decided to send my letter of “resignation”.

The next day, Golden Ours maintenance REMOVED my son’s Eagle Scout project plaque.

Really? REALLY! Not cool...
