Letter to the Editor: Thankful for our community

Isn’t it amazing how many things we take for granted in our community?

Yes, we have a great hospital, excellent doctors, nursing staff, great school system, churches, library, downtown stores, i.e., grocery, pharmacy, newspaper, hardware, banks, insurance, fire department, EMTs, Midwest Electric, sheriff’s department....BUT when we have a traumatic life-or-death experience in our lives, do we fully realize that it is all the people here that make it a wonderful place to live?

I have lived here over 60 years and have always loved the community.

We all have our opinions on what is right or wrong about the schools, hospital, city hall, airport, courthouse; that is human nature.

We must all reflect on the good people who are involved; Our ministers who are always here for us, our school administrators and staff, our hospital administrator and staff, our doctors, librarians, day care providers, everyone who owns a business and their workers. Let us not forget the farmers who make this a farming community!

If you really think about it, the positives far outweigh the negatives of living here.

These past few days have made me realize how fortunate we are to live in this community.

God Bless Everyone!
