Letter to the Editor: Very happy Grant’s Adair Reese wins Mrs. Nebraska title

Having family connections in and around Grant, I am delighted that Grant’s own Adair Reese recently won the title of “Mrs. Nebraska” at the pageant held at Omaha’s Scottish Rite Center on April 6.

I have even been inside that very building. Ironically, I happen to belong to the Scottish Rite Masonic fraternity in Lincoln and have visited Omaha’s marvelous Scottish Rite building, so the news was doubly good.

It is perfect that Mrs. Reese will showcase rural areas of Nebraska that are often forgotten or people simply don’t know about. It is a boost to the entire region. I wish her the best during her reign. Plus, I wish her ‘good luck’ when she competes in the national “Mrs. America” pageant in Las Vegas in August.

I think Adair Reese’s winning of the Nebraska title signifies that good family values are inculcated in small town Nebraska as well as the big cities.

It also gives everyone a piece of good news after the terrible flood damage. I might say that people in Texas put their PRAYERS and ACTIONS into relief-efforts to help Nebraska. The State of Nebraska is where my family’s “roots” are...and the people there are resilient with whatever comes their way.

Sincerely,

James A. Marples
