On October 29th, the Perkins County FFA officer team loaded up in a van at 4:30 in the morning to catch their flight to Indianapolis, Indiana for the National FFA Convention.
In June of 2025, the PC officer team worked together to put the final touches on an application for the National Chapter Award. This application was originally put together by former chapter Vice President, Cooper Kroeker. The National Chapter Award recognizes outstanding chapters around the nation. Chapters can earn the award by showing outstanding involvement in their community and growing leadership in current and future members.
Jaqueline Gloy and Cooper Kroeker walked across the national stage to receive this award. All formalities aside, the Perkins County officer team was truly inspired by their trip to Indianapolis.
According to Olivia Gengenbach, historian of the chapter, “It was a great experience to interact with people from all over and see how an organization can come together and do great things.” Olivia is absolutely right.
The officer team heard from numerous inspiring speakers, including U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins. Mrs. Rollins shared an inspiring message with the hundreds of members in attendance. She promised a bright future for the nation’s agriculture industry and expressed her appreciation for all FFA members for carrying on the legacy of agriculturists past and present.
Despite a 2 a.m. return on October 31, the Perkins County officers enjoyed a truly unforgettable experience in Indianapolis.
