Area students earn diplomas from UNL

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln granted 3,107 degrees during commencement exercises May 5-6.
The graduates are from 52 countries, 42 states and more than 250 Nebraska communities.
Included among the graduates were Colton White, College of Business, Bachelor of Science in business administration; and Jaclyn Nelson of Wallace, College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, Bachelor of Science in horticulture.

 

Bartels joins Phi Kappa Phi

Forty-eight students are the newest members of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Joining the membership was Jordyn Bartels of Grant, social work major.
Phi Kappa Phi promotes academic excellence and is the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline honor society. Standards for election are extremely high. Membership is by invitation only to the top 7.5 percent of second-semester juniors and the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students.
UNK hosted its initiation ceremony April 23, when new members were given a certificate, pin and honor cord to wear at commencement.
 

Curtis receives scholarships to CCC

Receiving an Academic Achievement Scholarship, CCC All-College In-Service Scholarship and Drs. Greg and Marilee Smith Scholarship is Mariah Curtis of Madrid. About 250 new and returning students have received scholarships for the 2017-18 academic year at Central Community College-Grand Island.
