The February senior of the month honor was given to Jaden Dietlein, son of George and Kathleen Dietlein.

Throughout his high school career, Jaden has been involved in numerous activities including four years of cross country, track, FFA, marching band, and class officer, as well as participation in basketball, speech, mock trial, science club and National Honor Society.

His participation in such activities has allowed Dietlein honors and awards that include qualifying for state cross country, track and FFA as well as being the vice president of the class all four years, and academic honor roll for all A’s throughout his high school career.

Outside of school, Dietlein works at the school during the summers and is active in the church, even going on a mission trip to Haiti his sophomore year.

Dietlein plans to attend the South Dakota School of Mines to major in chemical engineering.

“I am most proud of having stayed in the All A’s honor roll throughout my high school career. Academics have always been very important to me, so having been able to keep my grades in the high A’s all throughout high school makes me very proud,” he said.

“Throughout my high school career, the community has always shown support with my running. No matter how I did at cross country or track, people would always congratulate me and encourage me to keep working hard. The community has shown me what the small town experience is all about. Caring about one another regardless of who you are,” Dietlein added.

For being selected Senior of the Month, Dietlein’s picture will hang in the lobby of Pinnacle Bank in Grant. He will be eligible for a scholarship awarded at the end of the school year.

The Student of the Month and scholarship program are sponsored by Pinnacle Bank of Grant and members of the community.
