District Speech Champion title goes to Perkins County

Perkins County came home as the C2-6 District Speech Champions on Saturday, March 16. 

The meet, originally scheduled for March 15, was moved to Saturday due to weather, putting a damper on PC prom plans. 

Fourteen events made it to finals, with eight qualifying for state.

Humorous—*Jacob Woodmancy, second; Ethan Terry, fourth. 

Entertainment—*Ian Sihm.

Oral Interpretation of Drama—*Keshia Leeper, Peyton Woodmancy, J. Woodmancy, Wendell and McArtor, second; Triston Hite, Blake Dolezal, Kohl, Samantha Patrick, fifth.

Duet—Sihm, Bella Fraizer, fourth. 

Serious—Fraizer, fifth. 

State

The State Speech Contest will be held at the University of Nebraska-Kearney, with C-2 beginning at 8 a.m. CT on Friday, March 22. Finals will begin at 2:30 p.m. CT and awards will take place at 5 p.m.
