Scott Shanle, former Nebraska Cornhusker and NFL linebacker, visited Perkins County students on Tuesday, March 7.
High School, junior high and elementary students congregated in the new gym at Perkins County High School/Junior High for the visit.
Shanle brought a positive message to the students, sharing his own story of playing high school eight-man football in St. Edward, Neb., walking on at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and ultimately playing professional football, being a member of the New Orleans Saints as they won the Superbowl in 2009.
He stressed to the students the importance of going after their dreams, working hard, always having a positive attitude and doing the right thing, even when faced with adversity.
His talk was followed by a question-and-answer session, and an opportunity for students to get autographs.
