Local students earn degrees from UNL

College Notes

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln conferred 1,505 degrees during commencement exercises Dec. 15 and 16.

Graduates from Perkins County include:

Austin Lane Thelander, Grant – College of Business, Bachelor of Science in business administration.

Jessie Lee Woodmancy, Grant – College of Education and Human Sciences, Bachelor of Science in education and human sciences.

Rebecca Faith Cornelius, Madrid – College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, Bachelor of Science in agricultural education.

The 1,488 graduates are from 41 countries, 40 states and Puerto Rico, and more than 160 Nebraska communities.

Pinnacle Bank Arena hosted a ceremony for students earning graduate and professional degrees Dec. 15 and one for those earning bachelor’s degrees Dec. 16.

Chancellor Ronnie Green bestowed Nebraska’s prestigious Cather Medal upon James B. Milliken, former president of the University of Nebraska system and chancellor of The City University of New York, during the undergraduate ceremony.
