Claire Maaliao

March senior chosen

Claire Maaliao has been selected senior of the month for March 2017.

The busy Perkins County High School student has proven her dedication to her future through her hard work in school as well as the community.

She has been a member of FCA, FCCLA, mock trial and science club.

She has participated in volleyball, basketball and track, as well as band and chorus.

She has been involved in spring plays and musicals, was a class officer and a member of National Honor Society and student council.

Maaliao has also placed in art and scholastic competitions, and has been honored with academic all-state awards.

In the community, Maaliao has assisted with youth basketball and volleyball, caroled at Westview and Golden Ours, helped collect food for the food pantry, worked concessions as a volunteer at the Perkins County Fair, helped with the annual UMC turkey dinner and assisted at blood drives.

After graduation in May, Maaliao plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and eventually become a chemical engineer.

For being selected Senior of the Month, Maaliao’s picture will be on display in the lobby of Pinnacle Bank in Grant and she will be eligible for a scholarship awarded at the end of the school year.

The Student of the Month and scholarship program are sponsored by Pinnacle Bank of Grant and members of the community.
