McCormick wins Kiss-a-Pig contest for FFA fundraiser

Connor McCormick, the lucky winner of FFA’s Kiss-A-Pig event at Perkins County High School on Friday, Feb. 28, puckers up for a smooch with a baby pig held by PC junior Danielle Burge. A total of $130 was raised for the FFA chapter with three contestants: McCormick, Ben Jones and Tristan Stephenson. There were three sets of three jars placed around the school for students to put money into to select the winner. Last week was also National FFA week, with events scheduled for each day except Wednesday because the team was competing in a CDE. Monday was blue and gold day, where students wore blue and gold. Tuesday was supposed to be Greenhand day, when all the first year FFA members and members without their greenhand degree had their hands dyed green. Due to the late start on Tuesday, however, this event was moved to Friday. Thursday was the staff appreciation breakfast. Besides the Kiss-A-Pig event and the delayed Greenhand day, Friday was also drive a tractor to school day.
