PC students recognized for artwork
Perkins County High School students received honors at this year’s Phillips County Area Arts show in Holyoke, Colorado.
Kenyon Gaar received Best of Show first place for his oil pastel of a cityscape and Allisa Overstreet received the Best of Show second place for her Tempera painting.
Other student placings included:
Seniors—Jonathan Hanson, first, pen and ink drawing; Christopher Terry, third, mixed media self portrait; Charles Johnson, honorable mention, wheel thrown ceramic bowl; Bryce Grothman, honorable mention, graphite drawing.
Juniors—Werner Winkel-Vargas, first, graphite drawing of gas mask; Emilio Perez; honorable mention, Tempera painting color mixing problem.
Sophomore—Samuel McArtor, second, Tempera painting of the Celtic circle color problem.
