PCS art teacher’s work featured at exhibit

Lance Wurst of Grant, art teacher at Perkins County Schools, will be one of the 31 exhibiting artist educators at the Elder Art Gallery on Wesleyan University campus Sept. 1-30. The gallery will host the Nebraska Art Teachers Association’s juried annual exhibit of work by art educators from across the State of Nebraska. 

Forty-three works of art, selected by juror Lisa Lockman, including paintings, drawings, ceramics, sculptures, photography, jewelry, and mixed media pieces by 31 Nebraska art educators from across the state will be presented. 

The closing reception will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. CT with the awards being presented at 4 p.m. CT. The Nebraska Art Educators Association advocates for and advances art education in Nebraska to fulfill human potential and promote global understanding. The Elder Gallery is located inside of the Rogers Center for Fine Arts at 50th Street and Huntington Ave.

Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT, Saturday-Sunday, 1-4 p.m. CT. Special gallery hours on Sept. 28, 29 and 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT. The public is welcome and admission is free.
