PCS student’s art to be displayed in Washington

Charles Johnson, a Perkins County High School junior, took first place in the 2017 Nebraska District #3 Congressional Art Contest. Congressional Representative Adrian Smith called last Friday morning during Charles’ art class to give him the news.

Charles’ drawing, Sophie, will hang in he US Capital in Washington DC for the 2017-18 school year, along with student work from each congressional district. 

Charles will receive two tickets on Southwest Airlines to Washington DC for a reception and meet with Rep. Adrian Smith this summer.
