The Perkins County Speech team poses with their Runner-up plaque after a day of competition in Ogallala.

Perkins County ties with Bridgeport at Ogallala meet

Perkins County received the Runner-up plaque after they tied with Bridgeport with 54 points at Ogallala’s speech meet on Feb. 22.

Nine of the team’s events received honors at the meet after breaking into the Championship and Honors finals.

Next, the team will travel to North Platte’s Best of the West meet on Saturday, March 7, the final performance for many students.

“It was a really good day!” said Coach Penny Hite. “We have one more meet to go before conference. SPVA and Districts in Class C2 can only take the top two from each event. However, they all deserve to go in my book!”
