Plainsmen compete at State Quiz Bowl
The Perkins County High School Quiz Bowl Team traveled to Hastings to compete in the All-Class State Quiz Bowl Tournament on Monday, Apr. 20, 2026.
Students on the team are Olivia Gengenbach, Lauren Bishop, Myles Bishop, Anley Sauder, Grant Gloy, Hanna Colglazier, Jared Mireles, Grace LaGrange and Tanner Paintin.
The team is coached by Deanne Bishop.
At State, thirty teams competed in a double-elimination, bracket-style tournament. Perkins County battled hard but lost matches to Kearney Catholic and Cambridge.
“On a side note, congrats to our two seniors, Myles and Grace, on a great high school career. During their time, PCS qualified for State all four years-a first-time feat in PCS history!” Coach Bishop said.
