Plainsmen one act season ends at districts

The Perkins County one act team performed at districts in Sidney on Saturday, Dec. 7.

The Plainsmen received fourth place of the eight teams in attendance. The first team from each district moves on to state, and Sutherland was granted that spot.

Many actors from the team received individual awards. Triston Hite, Miah Long, Carter Krajewski, Even Sestak, Ian Sihm, Matthew Wendell, Sam McArtor, Summer Postlewait and Jacob Woodmancy all received outstanding actor awards.

Coach Ronda Baumfalk-Sipley said she is proud of the group and the work they did this season.

“They peaked when they needed to, and the district performance was their best of the year,” Baumfaulk-Sipley commented.

The group will be losing several seniors this year, but Baumfalk-Sipley is confident that the returning upperclassmen have enough stage experience to round out next season. Keshia Leeper, Anselmo Perez, McArtor, Sestak, Sihm, Wendell and Woodmancy will be graduating this year.

Baumfalk-Sipley plans to begin looking at scripts for next season over the next few months.
